Our History
Established since 1948, Schumann & Sohn GmbH has been specializing in flavours, fruit and vegetable products, and food colourings in food and beverages industry.
1948
Schumann & Sohn was found by Mr. Hanns Rudolf Schumann Sr. in 1948. Flavours and food colourings were already the main products in the business.
1961
In 1961 Mr. Hanns Rudolf Schumann Sr. and Mr. Georges Audibert established Atom S.A. in Le Puy-Sainte-Réparade, France. Atom had a specialization in the field of food ingredient solutions.
1979
In 1979, the leadership of Schumann & Sohn was passed to Hanns Schumann Jr. At this time, the business expanded countrywide in Germany and neighboring countries.
1984
Since 1984, ATOM was led by Gerd Mossmann, who continued to develop the company's expertise and product portfolio. ATOM GmbH specialized in fruit and vegetable products in various forms (powder, granulates, pieces, whole).
2012
The leadership was taken by Sabine Schumann, Mr. Hanns Schumann Jr.'s wife after his passing.
2024
Both companies became part of the Turpaz Group, gaining access to the capabilities and synergies of an international group.
2026
ATOM GmbH merged into Schumann & Sohn GmbH, bringing both companies together under one name. This milestone their experience, expertise, and complementary product portfolios while maintaining the products and solutions customers have come to rely on.
